GEIS bone tumor meeting

In February 2015, a meeting of experts from GEIS (Spanish Sarcoma Research Group) was held in Madrid. My personal contribution was a preview of our experience in the treatment of locally advanced Giant Cell Tumor with Denosumab.
Denosumab is a drug whose main medical indication is the prevention of osteoporotic fractures and the treatment of osteoporosis. In a study carried out at the Hospital Son Espases in Mallorca we demonstrated a reduction in the size of the locally advanced giant cell tumor which allowed the aggressiveness of the surgery to be reduced considerably.
